At least several hits, some per day since March 24th 2008.

Fri 18 Apr 08: Amusing Counter
2008-04-18 17:00

Today I pretended to be 100%. I checked the tire pressure and added air, bought gas, went to the recycling center, bought and put away groceries, and did laundry. It was great to get these chores out of the way. :)

Back home again, I rested on the bed, finished a novel I'd been reading and then Andri came to visit; the bus from the swimming pool goes right past so he took the opportunity to stop by. Now he is snoozing on one end of the couch while I recline on the other to type this. :)

This is day three of no sleep. I gave up at a quarter to 7 this morning, turned on the light and just continued reading where I'd left off the night before. Now my eyes are feeling distinctly grainy and I find myself blinking alot.

Einar will come home tomorrow. Unfortunately, a couple of things require his attention. I went outside yesterday to put some trash in the bin and noticed that his jeep was looking rather lopperjawed. I walked around it to find out why - the left front tire was flat as the proverbial pancake. And a couple of days ago, I turned on the stove to cook something and all the electricity on the upper floor went out. A little trial and error indicated which burner was responsible and I've marked it as broken and not to be used - just in case a kid comes over and takes a notion to cook something. Luckily, the other three burners are okay. I had to reset several clocks and also the computer, but that seems to be the extent of the damage thus far. This is not the first time that burner has given us problems. I really dislike that stove!! And I've been saying that for 8 years!

I baked a batch of cookies and gave half to Andri and half to Lora. I tasted exactly one. It was so horribly sweet that I feel the least regret seeing the last of them. Andri informed me that he has already eaten most of them (after 2 days). Neither of them complained about the sweetness. But I honestly don't know how they could eat them. I used fruit sugar and forgot that it is a bit sweeter than regular granualated sugar and the quantity should be decreased a little. Ah well - live and learn.

Yesterday I picked Lora up from work at noon and we two went to lunch downtown. She took me to the restaurant Hresso. She's been there many times but that was my first time inside. The food was good and the portions huge. I went home and still wasn't hungry by 8 p.m.! hehe

My counter now reads: At least several hits, some per day since March 24th 2008. Well.. I guess that's better than it saying: currently unable to update the number of hits. But I find this way of saying it's out of whack and unable to count visitors to be very amusing. :) I do wonder, though, why it periodically does this. It was okay less than 20 minutes ago..
