Yesterday and today, a couple of little 7 year olds have been targeting our house and our neighbors during recess. They do the regular - ring the doorbell and run away. But then they turned obnoxious, started kicking the door over and over. Then, today, I saw the little brats. It's a group of 5 but there are 2 ringleaders. They were kicking the next door neighbor's front door, throwing rocks, upturned their trash can. I went out and chased 3 of them away and told them not to come back (the other 2 had already run). Then I spoke with the recess monitor. We'll see what happens next.

Heretofore, I've let the older kids use our backyard as a hide-and-seek destination (our backyard is open) and the boys using it were not a problem - they were polite and didn't try to damage anything. But these younger boys are a whole other story.

And I know that one of our neighbors disapproved of allowing the older boys to play - unfortunately they started using his backyard without asking permission, so I don't blame him for being irritated. But the shenanigans this morning are going to send our other neighbor ballistic. I'm pretty sure the school is going to be hearing about it.

Sigh. Once again, a few will spoil the fun.
